About the Artist

Penny Black has felt small for pretty much as long as she can remember but has always harboured big and imaginative ideas deep inside her. She is the third generation of a line of model makers and engineers. But instead of making planes, trains or boats; she decided one day to use these skills to show the world her ideas.

Her ethos is that everything has potential, particularly the discarded and as a result, her artwork is constructed from at least 95% of reclaimed materials. Old stamps become walls or lawns for gardens; chopsticks become people and pocket watch gears become bicycle wheels.
