About the Artist
Jan Stammers has enjoyed drawing and painting all her life and has been experimenting with many different mediums over the years. Favouring acrylics for the past decade; her work uses bold colours with loose and impressionistic techniques to explore the play of light and shade. Trees are a particular favourite of hers and she takes inspiration from the places she has visited in the past, such as Cornwall, Suffolk and Provence but also the local woods in Langdon Hills from where her studio is based.
