Bayliss Brown is a lifelong scholar of classical painting techniques, particularly in the Renaissance. He has studied in Salisbury, London and Florence and been shortlisted for a number of prizes including the BP National Portrait (2015) and the Deutsche Bank Award (2016). He has exhibited in the UK, Italy and China.
This exhibition explores the notion of the halo through the medium of paint. Its symbolic presence and absence in artistic images is re-examined from the perspective of contemporary culture and society. The show is a delight for the mind and eye.
